  • If you ladies could, say a prayer for my friend Mandi...She wasn't due till the end of October...she ended up having her baby girl, Kayli, this morning at 9am. She weighed 1lb,7 oz. She seemed to be doing well so far today, but she was born at 23 weeks, 4 days...so early. She is in Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indiana...pray that this beautiful baby girl will grow strong and healthy!! Mandi and her husband tried for this baby for so long, and she is their first. Thanks!!

I'll be back soon to post again!

My daughters were born at 26 weeks.  There is aboslutely nothing that can be said to make being the parent of a preemie any easier, but please know that I will be praying for your friend and her daughter.  I talk to a lot of parents who are going through similar experiences to what we went through two years ago, so I am happy to answer any questions or give any suggestions to you or your friend.  If she's like me, she won't want to talk to anyone, let alone a stranger, any time soon, but if/when she is ready to talk, I'm happy to share experiences.  I kept a blog (and still do) during our daughters' hospital stay.  It may/may not help, but it is very detailed and discusses nearly every day of our hospital experience.  I've had several parents tell me it helped them.  The address is www.xanga.com/mamaoftwins21.  23 weeks is definitely very early, but we saw several babies that early leave perfectly healthy and normal.  One of the babies one of our daughters shared a row with for a few weeks was only 15 oz. when he was born and he was a fighter.  Your friend has a very tough road ahead, but hopefully it will have a happy ending. Please let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do to help.  I know what it's like to go through something like this and feel like you are all alone as a parent.

@mamaoftwins - Thanks so much. Mandi's xanga is www.xanga.com/mandirae . She might have friends lock on, I'm not sure. But I know she will appreciate your prayers and encouragement. Maybe you could send her a message. God Bless!
